Who are we?

https://laicite-secularism.eu is a website of the European Secularist Network (whose headquarters are located at Campus de la Plaine ULB, CP 236, 1050 Brussels, Belgium).

The European Secularist Network is committed to ensuring that the collection and processing of your personal data, carried out from the website https://laicite-secularism.eu, complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), adopted by the European Parliament on 14 April 2016 (Regulation No. 2016/769).

Use of personal data collected

Comments

When you leave a comment on our website, the data entered in the comment form, but also your IP address and your browser’s user agent are collected to help us detect unwanted comments.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify your use of the service. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is validated, your profile picture will be publicly visible next to your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user and you upload images to the website, we advise you to avoid uploading images containing EXIF data of GPS coordinates. Visitors to our website can download and extract location data from these images.

Contact forms

The personal data that the user communicates when sending a form or a request for information are only processed by the European Secular Network in order to be able to answer the user’s request.

The personal data of the users are only transmitted to the staff in charge of processing the requests. This data may be communicated to persons outside the European Lay Network when necessary for the processing of the user’s request. Under no circumstances will it be used for commercial purposes.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you will be asked to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is only for your convenience so that you do not have to enter this information if you leave another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.

If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal information and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set a number of cookies to store your login information and screen preferences. A login cookie lasts for two days and a screen preference cookie lasts for one year. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments instead of leaving them in the moderation queue.

For users who register on our site (if possible), we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). The site managers can also see and modify this information.

The right you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you can request a file containing all the personal data we have about you, including the data you have provided to us. You may also request the deletion of your personal data. This does not include data stored for administrative, legal or security purposes.
